XMail Forum > XMail Queue Manager > Agent will not install

Posted by: Roi Nov 24 2006, 08:56 AM
I'm trying to install the agent on a debian sysyetm and getting the following error :
CODE
MySERVER:/var/lib/xqmagent# ./xqmagent

ERROR:
Environment variable MAIL_ROOT not found!
Please make sure that you export MAIL_ROOT from your XMail Server startup script
or force a mailroot in your /etc/xqmagent.conf
The agent did not start ...

Thing is that I don't have a mail_root dir. I have "/var/lib/xmail/".
is this what I need to put into the "FORCE_MAILROOT =" directive in the xqmagent.conf ?

Exactly!

This IS your MAIL_ROOT folder. It is just the variable's name.

Changed the line and I'm getting :
CODE
:/var/lib/xqmagent# ./xqmagent
Daemonized!

But when I try to connect using the client I get :
"No agent found. Please check the configuration!"

If I try to connect using a normal gui admin it's working fine.
What am I missing ?
