Beau's bsa_filter will be upgraded ASAP.

I receive an error in the spam log:

"Can't find email file \\?\D:\XMail\xmail\MailRoot\spool\14\20\mess\1087897724568.4436.a164.zen"

Any clue as to what may be wrong?

I was going to check the bsa_filter script to see if it wored in that but it hasnt been updated yet.

You obviously don't want the //?/ in front of the path. I don't know where it comes from, but I also get this on my Windows server.

Just put this just after you get the filename from the input:

Doh! Now its broke in a different way.

Its finding the message and doing what it should do normally. When I receive the email I just sent from outlook It displays this at the top:

Content-Type: text/plain;

charset="US-ASCII"

Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit


It seems the script is converting my email to plain text too.

Please comment out these lines (no. 195 and 196):

$xmailHeader=~s/(?<!\r)\n/\r\n/g;

Change to:

What are the differences between your sa_filter2 script and the bsa_filter script from beau?

Fine. Please test the final 1.08 under the upper link.

Beau added some additional stuff for e.g. forwarding SPAM to particular accounts.
I also optmized the way spamc is called.

I have tried the 1.08 release and it seems to work fine.

Only thing that doesnt work is the $HITS function. In the SA header info added into the email it says the required number of hits is 8.3 which it is picking up from the default local.cf file. Should it not be picking up on what it says in the sa_filter2.pl script?

The header is added by spamc, which gets the required_hits from your .cf file.
The filter uses its own limit (=$HITS) to judge SPAM from HAM. It does not care about the entry in your .cf file.

Thanks for the info and the new script versions. I would guess that everything is working perfectly now. If anything new pops up I will post here.
