Hello all,

First, let me say what a great product this is. I'm really impressed with the ease of use, installation and functionality that is provided with xMail.

I recently installed xMail on a win2k server machine with ip 208.176.120.200 (subnet 255.255.255.0). I have a machine on this local network (208.176.120.190: 255.255.255.0) that can relay email off of the win2k server with no issues.

I want to open up the xmail box to allow me to email from my work location (ip 172.30.210.155 -subnet 255.255.255.0) to external domains not listed in the xmail server. So far, I've tried everything listed in the help (or at least I think I have!).

First, I shutdown the xmail service, and added the following lines to my TAB files:

[smtp.imap.tab]
"0.0.0.0" "0.0.0.0" "ALLOW" 1
"172.30.210.155" "0.0.0.0" "ALLOW" 2 #Work location

[smtprelay.tab]
"172.30.210.155" "255.255.255.0" #Work Computer
"208.176.120.190" "255.255.255.0" #Home Computer
#"0.0.0.0" "0.0.0.0"

I then restarted the service and thought this would allow me to relay mail off of the server without needing authentication. Instead, I received the dreaded '550' error.

From work, I can send emails to qualified domains on the server (listed in domains.tab), but I can't relay to domains not listed on the server.

If anyone can give me some insight on how to config the server to allow relaying from a specific IP outside of my local network, I would appreciate it!

Thanks,

Jim
