XMail Forum > XMail Server > -000017 Unable To Create Directory

Posted by: srudolf Feb 21 2013, 10:08 PM
Hi..

Recently I have had a trouble using Xmail (installed into Win2000 server). I can't add new user any more!. I have tried to do that using telnet (port 6017) also the Xmail Manager. In both situations the answer from Xmail is the same: -000017 Unable to create directory. I have verified MAILROOT directory permissions and I reseted the directory permissions to SYSTEM and ADMINISTRATORS (WRX) but I still can't add new account.

What kind of trouble is that?

You can check what exactly is XMail doing using Process Monitor (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb896645). There should be an attempt to create directory and reason why it failed.

Hi again.

I am so embarrassed!

The trouble was made by me!!

Some days ago, I had made changes in MAILUSERS.TAB file and the last row was together with the second last row. So, I separated the last row from the second last and now everything it's working fine!

I am so sorry. Excuse me.
