Does anybody know how to configure a yahoo POP mail.

This is the Xmailserver forum. Xmail is a mail server and designed to replace Yahoo email services.

To get client support for Yahoo mail, please contact Yahoo instead.

Dear Akari,

I have the same problem - I have setup Yahoo Pop3 in "pop3links.tab" and I get an "ssl write error" when enabling debugging with "-Md".

When checking with Wireshark, I can additionally see the message "Unknown CA". And yes - I have setup server.cert, "SSLAllowSelfSigned" "1", "SSLWantVerify" "0", etc., because gmail pop3 works fine. Which uses the same port as yahoo pop3 - 995.

My pop3links.tab entry for yahoo pop3 looks the same as for gmail pop3:

"at-home.net" "rmj" "pop.mail.yahoo.com:995" "xyz@yahoo.com" "111111111" "CLR,POP3S"
"at-home.net" "rmj" "pop.gmail.com:995" "xyz@gmail.com" "111111111" "CLR,POP3S"

Any ideas?

When I use fetchmail to access yahoo and gmail pop3 - both are ok. With XMail: gmail pop3 is ok, yahoo pop3 is not ok.

Please let me know if you need me to provide more info. Wireshark trace, ... ???

Thank you and Greetings.

PS: yahoo has enabled pop3 access for all. Search for "yahoo asia pop3". http://www.khimhoe.net/2009/06/20/how-to-e...-in-yahoo-mail/

The changelog for XMail 1.26 "http://www.xmailserver.org/ChangeLog.html#change_log" does not mention any changes/bug fixes for the psync (pop3links.tab) service.

So I assume that the problem still exists w/ 1.26. Please forgive me, if I am wrong.

Thanks All for your Help.

Greetings.

Anybody? sad.gif

Has anybody else setup Yahoo pop3 in pop3links.tab successfully?

Another solution:
http://xmailforum.homelinux.net/index.php?showtopic=1289

Use fetchmail to get emails from Yahoo pop3 and forward to XMail. wacko.gif

Ok - I'll try one more time.

Jteeuw - Have you been able to get Yahoo Pop3 to work by adding an entry to pop3links.tab? When enabling debugging with the command line option "-Md", do you see the error "ssl write error"? Or does it work for you?

Thanks.

This forum seems dead ...

jteeuw - I've got it to work using fetchmail - use fetchmail to get emails from Yahoo! Pop3 and then use a simple smtp forwarder to forward the emails to the XMail server.

smtp forwarder - a simple perl script like this one: http://getlive.cvs.sourceforge.net/viewvc/...1.3&view=markup

Well - at least I've tried ...

I just wish that somebody would look at how to setup Yahoo! Pop3 in pop3links.tab - The proper way.

Have fun, y'all. alien1.gif
