Suppose sender@domain1 sends a message to rcpt@domain2 that has a
*redirect to redir@domain3

Using redirect will make the domain3 MX to see a MAIL_FROM coming from
sender@domain1 while using an lredirect will make the domain3 MX to see a
MAIL_FROM coming from rcpt@domain2

A more plastic example:

QUOTE

It's a difference in the resulting sender that the final destination will
see. Suppose you have a@b sending a message to c@d that has a redirect to
e@f. If you have a redirect, e@f will see a@b has sender, while with a
lredirect it'll see c@d.

Note:
When examining redirected mails, kepp in mind that changes are done in the MAIL FROM field of the evelope and NOT in the FROM field of the mail.
The envelope is removed during SMTP processing and the content of the MAIL FROM field is mirrored to the "Return-Path" of the mail.

A good way to track how redirect and lredirect works, is to redirect to a non existing address. Then you can examine the frozen message with XQM. All information from the SMTP envelope can be seen in the spoolfile header.
