OK, just tested and with spam messages it gives diagnose SPAMASSASSIN. Great job Harald.
Just one thing: when I started XQM I get this error:
QUOTE
C:\WORK\Software\Python\xqm\buildqmgrwin\out1.pyz/fcntl:7: DeprecationWarning: the FCNTL module is deprecated; please use fcntl

Thanks for the hint -- will be fixed in the release version.

Please test, if the warning still comes up on your system ...

Problem with XQM 1.46 on winXP. After starting it it freezes at contacting agent and I had to kill it thru task manager. I didn't install or modify nothing after the first installation of XQM. Any idea?
Xqm agent is up and running on my linux machine.

Posted by: hschneider Jan 19 2004, 10:28 AM
The same thing after restarting the XP box ?
If so, maybe a corrupted config file: Rename xqmwin.dat and restart XQM.

Posted by: atomant Jan 19 2004, 10:32 AM
I have tried that but the same problem. When I hit Apply it stays there frozen.

Posted by: hschneider Jan 19 2004, 10:45 AM
Then the Agent is not reachable. Normally it will unfreeze after approx. 30 seconds.

Posted by: atomant Jan 19 2004, 10:50 AM
Nope, agent is up and running. It doesn't unfreeze even after 5 min. sad.gif

UPDATE: I have recently updated my kernel to version 2.4.20-28.8

Posted by: hschneider Jan 19 2004, 10:59 AM
Must be a XP specific problem ... did you change anything on this box ?
What exactly is displayed in XQM's status bar ?

Posted by: atomant Jan 19 2004, 11:03 AM
What an idiot I am...now I need to use modified startup script because of the kernel threading issue. Now it is working. Sorry for annoying you. wub.gif

Posted by: hschneider Jan 19 2004, 11:05 AM
No problem :-)

What about speed? How long does it take on your system to query the queue?

Just give me the number of messages and seconds displayed in the statusbar as well as your hardware + platform specs ...

Do you assume it as faster ?

Posted by: atomant Jan 19 2004, 02:51 PM
It is a lot faster than previous version. The initial scan takes only about 3-5 sec while on previous versions I had to wait about a minute or two. System for agent is linux RH8.
About number of messages - only 30 found frozen, all blocked by Spamassassin. image007.gif

Thanks for the feedback!

I also get the same performance on my SUSE Linux 8.1 box. On XP the initial scan takes 20-30 sec- all futher scans take 4-8 seconds. But this is a matter of the weak NTFS filesystem caching ..

So it is ready to production release ?!

Posted by: hschneider Jan 19 2004, 03:55 PM
Very soon ... at the moment I prepare XQM Agent for SunOS. Then I will compile and upload all things for all platforms.
