XMail Forum > XMail Server > Syntax Error Using Telnet

Posted by: lsilva Mar 3 2009, 08:11 PM
Good afternoon to all,

I’m currently using Xmail version 1.22 under a SuSe 10.0 and everything seems to be ok, but I observed that while using telnet to send messages I get the following error:

helo TEST
250 unx.nx.host.corp

mail from:mymail@test.com
501 Syntax error in parameters or arguments: (-31)

But if I send it using:

mail from:<mailmail@test.com>

Everything works fine.

My question is: Why this happens? Shouldn’t I be able to send messages without use the < > ?

This is causing some bounced messages from others servers.

Many Regards
Lincoln Zuljewic Silva
