Dear All, I have setup XQM in my win2000 workstation and install the agent 1.4 in the linux machine (redhat 9 ). I have installed the agent correctly and I see it when I run ps -ef ( i have the kernel = 2.4.1 in the start up script ). However, when I use my xqm to connect to it .. it said that no agent found .. Does any one know how can I touble shooot it ? thx ... Ken |

Run the Agent in debug mode and check its output. Maybe - it is bound to the wrong interface, - your client is not in its trusted_clients list or - its port is kept closed by a firewall. |

I have the following configuration Agent version : 1.40 Using xmaillib : 1.54 Using rpcserver : 1.12 Configurationfile : /etc/xqmagent.conf Threads : 25 Listening at : 10.1.4.22:8000 CTRL access at : 10.1.4.22:6017 Trusted clients : 127.0.0.1,192.168.*,10.1.4.* Handle dynamic IPs : No Forced MAIL_ROOT : /mail/MailRoot XMail startscript : /etc/rc3.d/S97xmail PID : 22639 Parent PID : 22638 My email server has the ip 10.1.4.22 and my computer has the ip 192.168.120.201 and when I launch the xqm to connect to the agent . it said that agent not found and the mail server exist the debug mode and go back to prompt ... 192.168.120.201 cannot talk to 10.1.4.22, because they are not in the same subnet. Either your server or your workstation have a 2nd interface in the opposite subnet, if they are on the same LAN. |

You mean that the agent and XQM has to work in the same IP subnet ? i.e. I cannot remote connect to the Agent in different network, right ? thx .. Ken |

If you connect both networks with a gateway, adding the corresponding gateway addresses should work. How are theses networks interconnected ? How do you access the server from your workstation with other applications ? |

There is a firewall between email server and my workstation i.e. my workstation <=> 192.168.120.1 -firewall- 10.1.2.1 <=> ( DMZ ) Email server we both has the default gateway to firewall i.e. my workstation 192.168.120.201 255.255.255.0 192.168.120.1 email server 10.1.4.22 255.255.255.0 10.1.4.1 I am able to download or send email with the email server and so I believe the connection is fine ... Do you mean to add the gateway in the xqm configuration ? many thx .. Ken |

Add 10.1.2.1 to the Agent's trusted list. In XQM assign 192.168.120.1 as the Agent's IP. |
