I have tried to run new agent but I get this error:
--------------------
[root@mig29 xqmagent]# /usr/local/xqmagent/xqmagent -debug
XXX lineno: 29, opcode: 68
XXX lineno: 29, opcode: 68

ERROR:
NO_SERVICE None
---------------------
Any idea?

The correct call on Linux is
./xqmagent --debug
... wiht 2 dashes before "debug".

Please give me some more infos about your platform.

I tested this on SUSE 8.0, 8.1, 8.2 and RedHat 9.0, FreeBSD 4.6, WinNT, Win 2000, WinXP without any probs ...

Make sure, that your xqmagent file has 1925982 bytes in size. Otherwise you might try an old installation which had indeed an issue with the service name ...

ABou the dashes - it doesn't matter it allways give the same result.
Platform RedHat 8 complete dist. with OpenSSL 0.9.7b

What about čnv var MAIL_ROOT ? Is it set in your shell?
Pls double check if you really use the latest xqmagent release.
Did you install /etc/xqmagent.conf ?

THis thread points out a hardware problem:

An Opcode problem appears, when the Python bytecode is different in mem and on your harddisk ...

Strange since the version 1.27 worked without any problem. Can you provide me a link for this old version of xqmagent because I don't have it anymore ?

Posted by: hschneider Sep 14 2003, 09:34 AM
Sorry ... I don't keep the binaries of older versions ... :-/

If you exclude hardware probs, the only possibility is an incompatibility of that part that turns the python scripts into executables. I will do some changes to that - would be nice if you could test this out then on your system ...

Hi All,

Today I upgraded my XMail server to version 1.17, all went OK. Then decided to upgrade the XQMagent to the latest version and got the same problems as Atomant.
I'm running XMail on a MDK9.0 box with 2.4.19-35mdksecure kernel and openssl-0.9.6i-1.4mdk.

What can be wrong?
As soon as you have some news please give me some feedback.

Thanks and Cheers,
Joao

This was a bug which only revealed on certain Linux releases.

Please download Agent 1.29 from marketmix.com. Thanks again for your feedback!

Hi Harald,

It now works but seems to take quite a while to detach from the console after saying "Daemonized!"

Othetwise seems to work.

Joćo
