I just received the following mail from Lycos:
QUOTE | Dear Tripod Member,
As you may have noticed, the performance of Tripod has not been as good as we expect it to be recently. In order to rectify this we have decided to do the following:
At the end of March we will move our Data-Centre from its current location in Paris to our data-centre in Stockholm. This will allow us to accommodate the enormous growth that we, as one of the leading European providers of personal websites, are currently experiencing.
What does this mean for you? During the migration process your website will remain accessible. After the migration, you will receive better connectivity, monitoring and service. We are doing our best to keep the impact on your website to an absolute minimum.
The data-centre migration will start on the 22nd of March 2003 and will take approximately seven days. During this time, the entire Lycos Tripod 'front-end' (www.tripod.lycos.co.uk) will not be available and you will not be able to update your website. Your website will remain accessible to you and to your visitors, but please be advised that the service might be slower then usual. .... .... Best regards, Your Lycos Tripod Team.
