XMail Forum > Documentation and Knowledge Base > Build Failure On Freebsd 7 |

Got a fresh install of FreeBSD 7_Release. Grabbed XMail 1.25. Put that into a temp directory, extracted and issued gmake -f Makefile.bsd, it errors out as such: g++ -o bin/MkMachDep MkMachDep.o -lssl -lcrypto -lkvm -lcrypt -pthread -lc_r /usr/bin/ld: cannot find -lc_r gmake: *** [bin/MkMachDep] Error 1 Not sure what/why is failing, if someone has a clue-bat for which to smack me, I am ready and waiting. gmake -version states : GNU Make 3.81 Thanks. To answer my own post, as I often do. I found that merely removing the -lc_r from the Makefile.bsd was all that was needed. I could not find any reference to what the -lc_r did for the gmake, but it was causing a problem. Once it was removed, the build continued and I can run XMail. Again and as usual, thanks! |
