XMail Forum > Documentation and Knowledge Base > How to restrict which user can send mail |

Hi all again. Think i have posted this Q b4... But here we go again: 10 Users in company. 3 users have valid external pop mailboxes. 7 users need only send mail localy and NOT externaly. Xmail server is installed on their 2000 Server. One domain is configured on xmail. ( company.local) All 10 users have a local mailbox on xmail. All mail that is sent out is forwarded to their ISP's SMTP server via SMTPFWD.TAB Ok...So how do i let ONLY the 3 users with external mailboxes send mail to the outside world. And how do i restrict the other 7 users to only send mail locally? And has someone done this b4? And HOW? Thanx BooT |

Set "SmtpPerms" to "VZ" in the restricted user's user.tab. |

Ok...Just an update on this smtprelay.tab: Clear all except the line with 127.0.0.0 If 127.0.0.0 is not there... then add it. This is relevant e.g. for phpMail() and other apps which need to relay, running on your server server.tab: Also set "EnableAuthSMTP-POP3" "1" in server.tab This authenticates all local users when they poll their POP boxes. user.tab: Set "SmtpPerms" to "VZ" in the restricted user's user.tab. Skipping flag "R" forbids relaying for these users. And that did it for me!... Works 100 % now Thanx BooT |
