Hi all...
Need help again I got a user with more then 300 mails in his mailbox. when i try to log in with Ubi i get an error saying : There were errors in the process Please login again System message: System failure, please contact your network administrator > Logout < So i moved his mail to another folder and i could log in.... Then i started to put mail back in his mailbox... 50 mails at a time... then i try to log in...i could do that...i logged out and everytime i added 50 mails and tried to log in..... I could do that till i was at about 250 mails in his mailbox... then i got the error again when trying to log in again.... So i removed 50 mails...back to 200 mails in his mailbox....and tried to log in again..... No luck...i got the error again.... so now i REMOVED mails from his mailbox to see where (Amount of mails) i could log in again.... I could not log on... ONLY on 0 mails in his mailbox could i log in again.... So now i am a bit screwed.... what do i tell this user???? I also tried another web based mail interface....I got the same problem with that one.... So what now? I can not believe that ubimail can not handle more then say 100 mails in a mailbox..... and so every other mail client...webbased that is.... Total mail size is 17 MB -------------------- ________________________________________________________________________________

Does it work when you try to download them with a normal e-mail client? If it's not with UebiMiau, then it seems like it should be the same with any mailclient...
I have to say that, when having to choose between it being most lickely to be a fault in UebiMiau or XMailserver, I'd go for UebiMiau any time... Had some problems with it before (was even able to solve one problem in the coding without any prior knowlegde of PHP) and can't say to have ever found a real error in XMailserver. You might also want to try with www.mail2web.com If any of these work, I do start to think it might be your webmail client(s) not being able to support over 250 mails. Maybe a problem in PHP or even your filesystem that's causing two webmail clients to act strange with over 250 mails? Mailman is a (not free, but they have a demo version) webmail client that's really easy to install and it doesn't use PHP. So if both other webmail clients used PHP, you might want to try this. Just to limit the things that might be causing this. |

And a normal e-mail client? Outlook, Thunderbird, Eudora... Pick one. Do they return an error?

Maybe you have problems with php.ini settings. Check for size allowed on script, upload, etc.

I was also thinking of some sort of limitation in PHP, but:
same thing in... which language did the cgi-script use Perl? Strange... |

BooT, please create a test account for me and PM the data and fill in the mailbox with messages. I'll try to find out what is wrong.

Works nice. I could login and read all 284 messages. Check file and dir permissions for webmail.

Hmmm, do you run UebiMiau and Xmail on the same machine? What is the Xmail load?
Maybe Xmail is hitting his upper limit for pop3 threads - try to increase them to a higher value. -------------------- Bye,

The Xmail and ubimail is on the same server yes...
But the problem is that users with slow connections seem to have the connecting problem the most... Same goes for downloading the mail via outlook or outlook express....then Download 30-50 mails then the connection times out.... anmd i have increased the timeout on xmail to 10 min's already....??? So no clue again.... I got another user now with 850 mail in his mailbox....and he can not download them at all.... -------------------- ________________________________________________________________________________

That is the Problem atomant
They can not log onto the Webmail interface when they have so many mails in it.... Timeout is from 5 - 30 mins while downloading mails..... And it is not that my server is on a slow connection or anything.... It has 8MB bandwith.... So yea.....??? -------------------- ________________________________________________________________________________
