Hi,

does XMail write log files by itself or do I have to set it up? Because there are no log files in the "logs" folder.

Thanks,
Kaan Ertürk

[edit: an off-topic question -> CronDaemon tries to mail to the root by the mail address of "root". How can I change root's mail address to one I want?]

Turn on logging with these parameters:
-Sl -Pl -Ql -Yl -Cl -Ll

.. where l is a lowercase L.

About cron see

Pls open seperate topics for different questions.

Sorry for the second question here. And thanks also smile.gif

You gave me parameters but I want to make this default. I mean at system startup I want those parameters to be set. How will I do this?

Thanks,
Kaan Ertürk

Add them to MAIL_CMD_LINE in your XMail startup script at /etc/rc.d/init.d/xmail

about your 2nd question komplike and i hope hschneider wont mind, create a file in your custdomains and name it the name of your mail server (ex: mail.yourdomain.tab) and write a line that looks like this:

"redirect"[tab]"yourdomain"

then create an alias named root for the account that will receive the root mail from your server. thats what i did to mine. wink.gif

I have done something different but don't know how to test. If it fails I will try this, but can someone tell me how to invoke crondaemon to send a mail to root?

Thanks,
Kaan Ertürk

Set the job which causes these mails to a per minute cycle. Details see
http://www.unixgeeks.org/security/newbie/unix/cron-1.html

Masterbug, I appreciate every other user's post in a discussion. Sometimes a solution has different ways an problems can be viewed from different angles. And finally also an answering script can have coredumps and mem leaks ... wink.gif
