Hi
I am using XMail Queue Manager v1.27 on W2K and running xqmagent version 1.13 (using xmaillib 1.33) on linux. When I run the xqmagent I get an error after Daemonized! That says "Unhandled Exception in thread: Error in sys.excepthook:" I can still connect with the Queue Manager though and try to query the queue. The queue manager sits in a "Querying Queue..." state and a number of xqmagent processes are running on the xmail (linux) server. After a while all the agent processes finish (including the original one I started) so there are no xqmagent processes running on the server anymore. The Queue Manager errors with 'Agent Not Reachable'. Could this be to do with the exception I am getting? Or could it be to do with the fact that the spool filesize is now 2GB (it's got a bit out of control)? Thanks Glyn |

Hi Glyn,
please download the latest release of XQM (1.36) and its Agent (1.25) from http://www.marketmix.com . This release is faster on large queues and has a bug fixed that caused a similar crash on FreeBSD. If the error still persists, please send me the complete screen dump of the exception. -------------------- Bye,

Hi Harald
I've just installed the new Agent and am getting 'version GLIBC_2.3.2 not found'. The previous agent worked ok. Is this a new reqirement to this version or is there something wrong with my environment settings? (I'm not very experienced with Linux). Also I think I may have clicked 'Report this post' on your reply reading it as reply to post. Sorry about that!  |

I suppose it's because I'm at glibc-2.2.2 and it's time to upgrade ..

It is compiled with the latest libs. If you cannot find the lib in your package manager, try a search via google for the right rpm that fits your Linux distribution and your CPU (e.g. I586). After download do a
rpm --install glibxxxxx.rpm This should fix the problem. -------------------- Bye,

I don't think I can upgrade the glibc. I am advised it is too fundamental and there are too many dependencies. So I guess I won't be able to run the new version of the agent. (unless I re-install a newer distribution).
