Posted by: akbsol Dec 31 2008, 06:27 AM
This is regarding XMail sendmail binary's extended sender -F flag. Can anyone please tell what is this about. If i use:

echo "test" | sendmail

the mail simply appears to come from and -f flag is simply ignored. What is this -F flag exactly for?

Extended sender means, e.g.

"Joe Black <>"

So when a extended sender -F is supplied on command line, the normal sender -f is simply ignored?

Choose either -f or -F.

For extended sender, the syntax is:

sendmail -F "Joe Black <>"
