| Hi, I'm presently encountering a problem with my XMail server. Since the november the 10th, it refuses to start. I've been investigating without success until now. The only hint I got is a log message in /var/log/daemon.log saying "Unable to create directory". I suppose this message is the result of inappropriate permissions but since there is no directory specified in the error message, I have no idea where the problem comes from. My concern is that since my XMail sever is down, no emails can be sent or received until I fix this problem. And this became really urgent now... Thanks in advance |

I still gave the same error even while trying to launch the XMail server by hand:
Is there someone who know which directory it is? I made an other test too. I tried to reconfigure the xmail package with dpkg and here is the error I get:
Anybody has an idea about what it could be? |

| what`s about the permissions on /etc/xmail and /var/lib/xmail (and all subdirectories)? Which Distri? Which Version? |
