I'm having an issue with Querying the Queue. Simply put, I load up the application, choose "Query Queue" and it just browses indefinately. The program is still responding, and isn't frozen, but it just sits on the "Please Wait, Browsing" prompt.
Any ideas? Cheers, Jim |

Um...
That's what we (Harald and I) were discussing in your original thread you said went OT. The problem with Mx 64 Qn 64 is that it creates over 40000 directories under spool. That's a problem in itself for Windows, but XQM has to browse every one of those directories. It takes a while on a windows file system. I went to Mx 32 Qn 32 and everything seems to be working very well. Re-read the thread again and you'll see the details. http://xmailforum.homelinux.net/index.php?...topic=2870&st=0 |

I've reduced the thread size, but it still hangs. Im assuming its become there is still a large spool dir from the earlier setup?
If thats the case, what can I do? I was keen on keeping the list of frozen messages. Jim |

Even though I went to down to 32 from 64, the speed difference was minimal. I'm thinking because: 1. The threads to spools are now matched instead of XX and 22 2. Windows can better handle the directory structure. It's kind of like running Ethernet.. What's better, running 100BT on CAT3 wiring and having a lot of bad packets or running it at 10BT and it runs clean. Maybe not a good analogy for a Friday morning. Is it beer time by someone yet? |

Testdrive this:
http://marketmix.com/downloads/xqmwin_win32_pre08.zip Leave the thread slider on its maximum. It scans an empty 128 level queue in approx. 45 seconds on my system, while a standard queue needs approx. 4 sec. The specs of my developer box are Intel P4 HT, 2.8 GHz, 2GB mem, 120GB SATA, WinXP Pro + Clevercache Pro. The latter one might also be worth a test: http://www.oo-software.com/en/products/ooc...ache/index.html -------------------- Bye,

Ended up just removing the spool directory and starting again. Will test out the new XQM during the next mailout and let you know how it goes.
Nice icons Cheers, Jim |
