Done -- XMQ Agent for FreeBSD is released!
Download at http://xmail.marketmix.com/downloads/xqmag...ent_freebsd.tgz The Python related bug, mentioned in the XQM Forum beta testing thread, is limited to the regular expression module used by the analyzer. It's replaced by an older but stable module. XQM passed all tests and is assumed as stable. Please let me know any issues with this port. -------------------- Bye,

Terribly slow.
When the windows client had been for ten minutes "Browsing...", I cancelled it. It says: "can take some seconds...", but took four minutes to cancel! All the others things work perfectly. We'll begin to install in the classroom FreeBSD servers, and Redhat 9 clients, to see that so... :-) |

Please let me know CPU type and amount of RAM of the Agent machines.
Reduce the numer of threads to 1 in /etc/xqmagent.conf and restart the daemon. Any difference ? BTW: Happy birthday! :-) -------------------- Bye,

P4 / 256 Ram / FreeBSD 4.6
Nope, xqmagent take about 60% of CPU while client "browsing..." It does not concern the number of frozen messages, always takes more or less the same time.
Thanks! :-) This late we will do a massive test in class, these servers have (much) less work load. |

60% of the CPU bandwidth is necessary for searching over 4000 spool subfolders in short time. Hanging of XQM can also mean, that the Agent crashed.

Of course! I said it because it seemed little to me... :-) The really important thing is that it already works. Other things is time to the time. At this moment the students are working hard with Solaris, but we'll have time to test the Agent in FreeBSD. |
