Posted by: katnip May 22 2006, 01:57 AM
I installed lates version of Queue Manager I have XQM agent installed
I pointed my mail root to C:\apache2triad\mail\

AGENT_HOST = 69.94.my.IP
AGENT_DYNIP = 0
TRUSTED_CLIENTS = 69.94.my.IP
CTRL_HOST = 69.94.131.16
CTRL_PORT = 6017

I get xmail server not found error

Please help

Pls make sure that
- XMail's registry settings are correct. This is typically a missing MAIL_ROOT key. Details see XMail manual.
- The Agent's port is opened in the server's firewall setup.
- Port 6017 is opened in the firewall too, because you use the server's external IP here in CTRL_HOST.

Also keep in mind, that the Agent is only necessarry if you cannot run XQM directly on that machine.

Im confused I don need xqmagent?

these directions from the manual for xmail
QUOTE
Build XMail. this is what I change in windows registry? I have apache triad xmail is within its folders do I point to apache folder or make a copy of xmail in C:/root ?

Copy the supplied MailRoot directory where you want it to reside (normally 'C:\MailRoot').

Setup the MailRoot directory (and subdirectories and file) permissions to allow access only to System and Administrators. Doing this you can run XMail as a console startup only if you're Administrator (service startup as System).

Copy XMail executables to 'C:\MailRoot\bin'.

With 'regedit', create 'GNU' key inside 'HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\' and then 'XMail' key inside 'HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\GNU'.

Create a new string value named 'MAIL_ROOT' inside 'HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\GNU\XMail\' with value 'C:\MailRoot'.

Optionally create a new string value named 'MAIL_CMD_LINE' inside 'HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\GNU\XMail\' to store your command line options (read well the rest of this document).

Thank you for you help

You only need the Agent, when you want to access a remote XMail installation. If you sit in front of the server or if you use Windows Terminal Services, then you do not need it.

Im unable to connect can I give you axess to my server and if you get a chance to look at it ..if your interrested in doing work for me id pay you or trade my graphics or web design for your xmail and programming expertise

Thank You so much for your help

Sorry - I cannot offer remote admin services for free. However, asking here IS free.

Again: If you have DIRECT access to the server, you only need to install XQM, no Agent required.

- Download http://xmail.marketmix.com/preview/XQMWin_Install.exe
- Install XQM directly on the server (NOT the Agent)
- Click the "Setup" icon in the toolbar.
- Choose "Local Mode"
- Enter all required settings
- Click "Apply"

If anything goes wrong, post the error shown in the status bar at the windows's bottom line.

If the required settings are unclear, click the "Help" icon in the toolbar, scroll a few lines down and click the link named "Configuration". Read ...

Leave Force_Mail_Root and Force_Service_Name blank and retry.

Are you sure that XMail is installed as as system service ?
And you really start XQM on the same machine on which XMail runs too ?
Sorry for that kind of doc like questions ...

- Make sure that XMail is running
- Open a command prompt
- Type "net start" without the quotes
- Search for a line that starts with "XMail"
- Enter the complete line in XQM's setup under Force_Service_Name

Typically this line should be
XMail Service

Maybe Apache Triad uses another name.

That worked it was ApacheTriad2 Xmail in the force server name Big Thank you

on the diagnosis area for some emails it said Server_Overload
also what would be my HeloDomain mail.mydomian.com ?

Posted by: hschneider May 28 2006, 07:29 AM
Thanks for the feedback!

Server_Overload usually means that the recipient's server does accept only a limited number of connections. Your HeloDomain should be the registered domain name pointing to your server's IP.

Pls post further setup relevant questions to the XMail Server forum.
