What is your client and server platform and version of XQM + Agent as well ?

Try to reduce the no. of threads. If you use XQM Agent, set them in the .conf file to 4 or 8. Restart the Agent after changes.

If your queue holds some hundreds of MB or even some GB, querying can take some time. If the CPU (or HDD) on server side shows heavy activity, the the Agent does some heavy work and you should wait until he's finished ...

I have the Newest 1.46 Queue Manager and 1.40 of the agent runing on a Windows 2K Adv server that has 512Mb Ram and 2+ gig CPU

I just stoppped the service as you said and then deleted all but the local and temp directories and then when I started the service it made 22 directories again. Now refreshing the Que Manager query is taking forever still even locally on the server even having just deleted the 22 folders.

Is that Normal? Aso the CPU load is at almost 100% all the time the query is going.

Pls verify the content of the xqmagentwin.conf file:
- Did you set AGENT_HOST and _PORT properly?
- Is your client listed under TRUSTED_CLIENTS ?

If all this is OK, run the agent in debug mode from command line.
What exactly is its debug output ?

All the settings are correct. Now that I got the spamming attempts under control the Que Manager works properly, except the 100% CPU utilization while performing the queries.

It just does not seem as though that should happen, but I know other programs do the same like Internet Explorer when waiting on user input and things so I guesss is not that uncommon. Just thought I'd ask if it where true.

Nevertheless you should try with the number of threads reduced to 4 or 8.
Just change this in the .conf file and restart the Agent.
