Xqm Feature Request

Hi,
this might sounds like a strange feature request at this moment in time. Can you add something into the config file of the agent and XQM which alows me to specify which registry key XQM should be querying. I am running Xmail server twice on the same machine in different locations. They use their own registry keys under GNU in the registry XMail and XMail_MM. At the moment if I want to change which xmail XQM queries I have to change the registry for xmail to point the MAIL_ROOT key to the XMail_MM MAIL_ROOT location.

There will be a feature in 1.16 which registers the .exe to read whatever key the .exe is named after. for example; xmail.exe renamed to xmail_mm.exe reads the xmail_mm key in GNU.

Hi,

you can get the modified release of XQMwin at
http://xmail.marketmix.com/preview/XQMWin_Install.exe

Changes:
Force a local queue folder and a local service name in the config dialog.
The final version will have profiles which allow easy switching between different configurations. For the moment it makes sense to install multiple XQMs for multiple configurations. This will be obsolete then later on ...

The Agent will follow next ...

Thanks! That works quite well and nothing else seems to be broken, which is always a good sign when new features are added. I am not using it on our main mail server. Any problems and I will report them back here.

At the moment it is not possible to submit a service name to the Agent at startup, since the tool which generates the executable from the python source (py2exe) needs hardcoded name strings.
If I use such tools like XNET.EXE or SVCANY.EXE, the service does not start up ...

If you know any other tool, that turns an .exe into a service, please let me know. Otherwise I'll have to improvise ...

I wouldnt have a clue about your service issues. I will have a think about how it could be done and if I thnk of anything I will post it here for you.




Found a problem with XQM, dunno if its just the 1.28 version though. Its not displaying the date for this message and a few like it:

- Fixed date problem

XQM Agent 1.19:
- New .conf file parameters FORCE_MAILROOT and FORCE_SERVICENAME
- Installing multiple service instances is now possible. Details see README.TXT in the Agent's program folder.
- Registry keys are not needed anymore.
- Debug output informs about .conf file path and if MailRoot and servicename were forced.
- Some internal changes that caused a coredump on FreeBSD also went into this release.

- A preflight thread clears the queue from zombie slog files and fills the system's file cache for (slightly) faster queries.

Error:

The setup files are corrupt. Please obtain a new copy of the program.

I have downloaded it twice and got this error both times. files size is 2,1500,400 bytes.

The Agent downloads fine though.

Setup files now work correctly.

I have tested XQM on the secondary install of XMail locally on the server and remotly using the agent.

I am going to install a second version of the agent for the primary installation and test that works fine side by side with the other XQMAgent service.
