Hi,

if you are interested in some BETA testing, you can download XQM Agent 1.06 at
http://xmail.marketmix.com/download/xqmagent_106.exe (Win32 platform, only!)

There is also an update of the XQM manual with some config examples for the agent at
http://xmail.marketmix.com/preview/docs/in...html

New in this XQM Agent release:
- TRUSTED_CLIENTS can be a mixed list of IP numbers, subnets (e.g. 192.168.0.*) or hostnames.
- Together with free dynamic IP services like e.g. http://no-ip.com, you can manage a XMail host in the internet, even when your client and your server use dynamic IP addresses.

ToDo:
- If a new dynamic IP is reassigned, then the agent needs to be restarted. This will be automated later on.

Please give some feedback, especially about your network scenario.

Bye,
Harald

Hi

COOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL

Works 100 % So far....

I just added my IP like this: 10.245.23.*

When i dailup the last part always changes. My Xmail server is on the internet and i have to log in every time and add my IP to the list... Then restart the service and then only i could log in.

What would be nice is a username and password to be abl;e to connect vie agent to your Xmail box... What would u think?
Specify it in the .conf file or just use the master admin password for Xmail.

makes it more secure....

I like secure connections...LOL

But as it is now it works.

If the XMail machine has a static IP, then you can use a dynamic name service for your client. See http://no-ip.com for details. Then the agent verifys the connection by your no-ip domain name. Your agent's .conf file then looks something like this:

TRUSTED_CLIENTS=somename.no-ip.com

>.. username and password
This is indeed in my queue ... :-)
Seperate user+password auth or combination with IP check.

Thanks for the feedback!

I just Ran a Query to the Que....

There was 2 frozen messages....

I deleted them and then it ran a Query again......

It was running for about 10 Min's and nothing happened. I then hit the Cancel Query button... It was running for another 10 min's and nothing happened. I Had to "End Task" on my local PC.

???

After i "End Task" I ran it again....
Worked 100 % again.... ( Nothing was in the Que )

Thanks for the info. Are there any hints in the server's event logs ?
Can you reproduce that error?
Can you remember why the 2 messages were frozen (e.g. invalid spoolfile format) ?
Do you access the server by machine name or by a dynamic IP service?

I only know that behavior from one certain situation:
- The server's or the client's IP changes during a transaction betwwen XQM and the agent.
- This can happen, when you use dyn. IPs and their leasing time expired.
Then your DHCP service reassignes a new IP to a machine name.

This will be fixed in one of the next releases.
